Abigail Lee

Abigail is the Executive Director of Healing Hearts Centre, and the current President of the Association for Play Therapy (Singapore). 

With close to 15 years of experience as a counsellor, play therapist, supervisor and trainer, Abigail works with children, adolescents, individuals and families who have experienced trauma, abuse and anxiety issues. 

She is a Certified Circle of Security Facilitator with Circle of Security International and a Certified TraumaPlay therapist and supervisor. In addition, she is appointed by the Family Justice Courts as a Parenting Coordinator and by the Singapore Mediation Centre as a Collaborative Family Practice Counsellor to work with families undergoing separation and divorce.

Amarjit Kaur

Amarjit is a partner in the litigation and arbitration team, with a focus on employment matters.

She is a commercial disputes lawyer who has acted in high-value and complex litigation and international arbitration matters.

She has represented Fortune 500 companies and ultra high-net-worth individuals in shareholder, employment, corporate insolvency, and large scale professional negligence / construction disputes. Amarjit advises clients across the spectrum of contentious and non-contentious employment issues. She has guided companies and executives through complex employment issues arising out of investigations, reduction in force exercises, business transfers, enforcement of restrictive covenants, and M&As. Amarjit also frequently advises employers on global mobility matters.

Amarjit has been recognised as a Litigation Star in the Benchmark Asia Pacific Guides since 2021. She has also been consistently noted for her expertise in labour and employment law in the The Legal 500: Asia Pacific Guide and Chambers Asia Pacific Guide. She is listed as a recommended lawyer in Doyle’s Guide for Leading Employment and Labour Lawyers in Singapore since 2020; and as a notable lawyer in the Asialaw Guides. In 2017, she was recognised by the Singapore Business Review as one of Singapore’s most influential lawyers aged 40 and under.

Amarjit is a frontrunner in training and performing cultural assessments on #MeToo and diversity & inclusion issues. As the global head of Withers’ Diversity and Inclusion Branch, Amarjit leads a working group within the firm that is represented from its global offices to proactively plan for diversity and inclusion initiatives and activities. These include mentoring schemes for aspiring solicitors in the UK, supporting LGBTQ+ rights through internal and external awareness, and promoting and facilitating education on critical anti-racist and other diversity related topics. Amarjit also serves on the Project Law Help Committee under the auspices of the Law Society’s Pro Bono Services and is a board member of Club Heal, a mental health charity.

Amarjit has also been frequently interviewed by various media on current issues and matters relating to employment.

Dr Chen Shiling

Dr Chen Shiling is a physician with special interests in dementia and adults with intellectual disability (ID). She is deeply passionate about improving the lives of both populations, and is currently working with Tsao Foundation and Khoo Teck Puat Hospital in providing care for both populations. She is also the founder of “Happee Hearts Movement”, which advocates and provides for the health needs of adults with ID. Dr Chen is currently a member of the Management Committee of Alzheimer’s Disease Association (ADA) and also chairs their Programmes and Services Sub-Committee. She is also a member of the Residential and Community-based Care Services Committee in Movement for the Intellectually Disabled of Singapore (MINDS) and serves on their Healthcare Working Group. Dr Chen is also a member of the AWWA Programmes and Services Committee and also serves on the board of Mamre Oaks Ltd. She is also an appointed member of the Adult Protection Team (APT), Ministry of Social and Family Development.

Cho Pei Lin

Pei Lin is a pioneer in introducing Litigation PR to Singapore and her forte includes providing strategic PR consultancy in public affairs and public education campaign communications, corporate, litigation and crisis communications and government relations. Her strong acumen for developing creative and effective communication strategies has seen her sought after by clients ranging from government agencies, to global listed companies and non-profit organizations. Pei Lin is an accredited PR Practitioner of the Institute of Public Relations Singapore and has an Honours Bachelor of Law Degree from the National University of Singapore. She volunteers with various community and non-profit organizations.  

Christine Tee

Christine’s practice is in litigation and dispute resolution, with a focus on professional liability, employment and investigations.

Christine regularly advises companies on a wide variety of dispute. She also advises and assists in corporate investigations into employee misconduct and wrongdoing.  This includes investigations into breaches of anti-harassment policies, as well as unauthorised retention of confidential and proprietary information and data.

Christine has acted as counsel in High Court Suits involving allegations of harassment by ex-employees, as well as counsel in POHA court proceedings.

Derek Low

Derek is currently a contracts negotiator with TotalEnergies, specializing in the law relating to international trading in oil and gas. As a former litigation lawyer, Derek has a keen interest in legal issues concerning the social compact of Singapore, and he keeps an eye out for new developments in fields such as Criminal Law, Family Law and new emerging areas such as harassment and personal data protection.

Eunice Chua

Eunice is the Chief Executive Officer of FIDReC and a Research Fellow at the Singapore International Dispute Resolution Academy. She was previously an Assistant Professor of Law at the Singapore Management University School of Law and Deputy CEO of the Singapore International Mediation Centre. Eunice has also served as Assistant Registrar of the Supreme Court, and Magistrate of the State Courts. Her areas of expertise are dispute resolution, evidence and procedure.

Fong Wei Li

Wei Li is the managing director of Forward Legal LLC – a small law firm specialising in Internet and social media law. He primarily practises litigation and arbitration, with a focus on media, Internet, and China-related matters. Wei Li also enjoys sharing his experience. He is an active member of the Law Awareness Committee and is often invited to conduct public talks and seminars aimed at promoting legal knowledge and awareness among laypersons. In addition to lawyering, Wei Li is an adjunct faculty member at the Singapore Management University’s YPH School of Law.

Genie Sugene Gan

Genie heads up Kaspersky’s Public Affairs in the Asia-Pacific & Middle-East, Turkey and Africa regions, where she is responsible for developing trusted relations with government and institutional stakeholders for the company, while integrating the business, communications and public policy strategies.

She frequently speaks on international platforms and is a thought leader in topics surrounding public policy, and the intersection of technology and policy. She holds a JD, an honours degree in Accountancy, and a Specialist Diploma in Counselling Psychology. Called to the Singapore Bar, she is also Mediation Coach at the Singapore Mediation Centre, and a Mediator at the Singapore International Mediation Institute.

Genie started her journeys in accountancy and law in Big Four Firms. Early on, she founded a successful start-up in the services industry before spending a significant time in Public Service as a government officer, taking on various portfolios such as Special Assistant to Minister(Law) and Singapore Delegate to the UN General Assembly, and Director at the Law Society.

Outside her professional portfolio, her passion for teaching, non-profit and charity work has led her to be an adjunct lecturer at universities and serve on various Boards and Committees of Non-Profit Organizations and volunteer for pro bono legal causes.

Gloria James

Gloria has been a practising lawyer since 1996 and has gained considerable experience and knowledge in diverse areas of the law pertaining to Family Law, Criminal Law, Civil Law and Estate Law.

In 2011, Gloria became a certified Associate Mediator at the State Courts of Singapore and the Singapore Mediation Centre under the joint training workshop.

In 2014, Gloria attained certification in Mediating Disputes from the Harvard Mediation Program under the guidance of Professor Robert H. Mnookin. She also trained with Regent’s University of London under the guidance of Paul Randolph in the area of mediation coupled with psychotherapy and psychology.

In 2015, Gloria underwent an intensive 40 hours Family Mediation Workshop jointly organized by the Singapore Mediation Centre and Erickson Mediation Institute. She was accredited as a Family Mediator in the Singapore Mediation Centre and Family Justice Courts of Singapore.

With this training, she is capable of managing high conflict personalities in an intensive, emotional and volatile background. She is also able to empathise with, and provide emotional support to clients.

Halijah Mohamad

Halijah Mohamad graduated from National University of S’pore and was called to the bar in 1984. The focus of her practice is family law (in both civil and syariah courts). She is involved with various NGOs (including AWARE & Muslim Financial Planning Association). She is now Vice President of S’pore Association of Women’s Lawyers. She is a member of the Family Law Practice and Muslim Law Practice Committees in the Law Society.  

She is also part of Musawah (a global movement for equality in Muslim family). She had been involved in representations to Select Committee on several bills including Administration of Muslim Law Act, Women’s Charter, Penal Code, and Maintenance of Parents Act.  She contributed the chapter on Overview of Syariah law in family matters in the book LAW & PRACTICE OF FAMILY LAW IN S’PORE published by Sweet & Maxwell (2016).   

Jeffrey Lim

Jeffrey Lim is a lawyer specialising in data governance, cybersecurity, privacy and artificial intelligence. His clients include global e-commerce multinationals and technology companies. He was in-house counsel at a global technology company where he managed a data privacy compliance program for East Asia, ANZ and India.

Jeffrey is Chair of the Law Society’s Cybersecurity & Data Protection Committee, and legal advisor to the Singapore Computer Society. He has written articles on data protection published by the PDPC and is the lead writer for legal chapter in the SCS-IMDA AI Ethics Body of Knowledge. He is a former chair of the Law Society’s Project Law Help Committee and remains active in pro bono work.

Jerrick Lim

Jerrick is a Senior Legal Counsel in the healthcare sector, focussed on developing start-ups that have global reach. Jerrick has previously had experiences in the travel, logistics and the insurance industry. He has ongoing interest in ensuring access to justice, and mentoring the next generation of legal professionals.

Katherine Yap

Katherine Yap was one of the pioneer visionaries who spearheaded the establishment of Maxwell Chambers in Singapore. She also championed the expansion of Maxwell Chambers new building premise, Maxwell Chambers Suites, in August 2019. Katherine also jointly led Maxwell Chambers through the co-founding of the IACA (International Arbitration Centre Alliance), advocating the use of virtual and hybrid ADR hearings globally. 

Fore fronting all facets of the business, Katherine has over 13 years of experience driving sales growth, leading transformation and advocating innovation in the ADR arena. Her tenacity has attributed to the successful advancement and stronghold that Maxwell Chambers continues to hold across the ADR landscape. 

Katherine further adds to her comprehensive portfolio in the ADR landscape through her certification as an Associate Mediator at the Singapore Mediation Centre, Master Mediator for the Community Mediation Centre and Mediator for the Singapore International Mediation Institution. She is also on the Panel of Mediators with Beihai Asia International Arbitration Centre and Executive Committee of the Society of Mediation Professionals (Singapore). She has over 9 years of experience in Mediation and actively presides over mediation cases with the CMC. 

Kellyn Lee

Kellyn is a Senior Associate in the Dispute Resolution department at Drew & Napier LLC. In addition to holding a Juris Doctor degree from Singapore Management University, she also holds a Bachelor of Social Sciences (Honours) from the National University of Singapore in Communications and New Media, with a specialisation in communication and risk management. She is a member of the Law Awareness Committee and has been actively involved in legal awareness and outreach efforts since her law school days.

Lee Mei Zhen

Mei Zhen is called to the Singapore Bar and is currently an in-house counsel.

Lim Liyen

As a volunteer at Law Society Pro Bono Services (LSPBS) since October 2017, Liyen has assisted in the development of materials for Law Awareness talks, and helping with LSPBS’s annual fundraising gala and the Annual Report.  Recently, she has had the opportunity to create content for and host legal webinars on a variety of topics.  It is a project she greatly enjoys being a part of.  Liyen was called to the bar in 2000.  She practiced as a corporate commercial lawyer for about 2 years, assisting in both High Court and Subordinate Court cases, before joining Siemens Pte Ltd as in-house counsel from 2003-2005.  She has two teenage children.

Nicholas Khoo

With over 20 years of diverse experience, Nicholas has been a co-founder and board member in businesses, non profits, and government. Worked with Fortune 500 CEOs, headed up the region for an investor in digital-first education, Nicholas has also led a regional team for Visa supporting the biggest internet businesses like Tencent, Alibaba, Ctrip, and SEA manage their risks in digital transactions, serving on Visa’s Asia Pacific Merchant Sales & Solutions leadership.

Nicholas has also provided leadership to major esports events (including a number of world championships) that have reached more than 500 million gamers globally. Nicholas has chaired multiple national initiatives, including one with the Ministry of Education to have students reimagine education and work for Singapore’s next 50 years as well as an official ASEAN youth event. Nicholas has also been invited to judge an Innovator Awards in Silicon Valley, the ASEAN Youth Creative Industry Fair and led a national delegation to the Nanjing Youth Olympics on the invitation of China’s Vice Premier. He was also invited by Chinese Leaders to share the stage with key global leaders at the Wuzhen Summit.

Nicholas clearly has an unconventional approach to life when he turned down prestigious college scholarships, dropped out of National University of Singapore (NUS) computer science programme only to graduate as valedictorian for his MBA and invited as an expert for NUS’ Global Studies Programme. Today, Nicholas also lectures at the University of Stirling.

In 2018, Nicholas was honoured both as a Friend of the Ministry of Culture, Community & Youth as well as the Ministry of Social and Family Development. In 2021, Nicholas was awarded the Minister for Home Affairs National Day Awards.

Patrick Tay

Patrick is the Assistant Secretary-General of NTUC and also Director of NTUC’s Legal Services and Strategy. Concurrently, he is an elected MP and member of the NTUC Central Committee. He chairs the Government Parliamentary Committee (GPC) for Education and is a member of the GPC for Law and Home Affairs. He has been representing the Labour Movement in all the tripartite workgroups to review/update employment and industrial relations legislation.

Peggy Sarah Yee

Peggy is actively involved in various aspects of legal practice, acting for both multi-national, local and individual clients alike. She handles a broad spectrum of legal matters, in particular in the areas of Family and Civil Litigation, Real Estate Conveyancing, Probate and Estate and Corporate matters.

Peggy is particularly interested and invested in Family Law matters. She considers it a privilege to be entrusted with a client’s personal family matters. As such, she handles every such matter sensitively. She consistently strategises for her clients so that they can best navigate the legal and emotional humps facing them. The goal is to achieve a solution that best addresses the client’s needs and intent. She also believes that an acceptable settlement is preferable to an unsatisfactory judgment.​

Rajan Chettiar

Rajan Chettiar is a barrister-at-law from the United Kingdom and qualified as an Advocate and Solicitor of Singapore in 1997. He is the Managing Director of Rajan Chettiar LLC, a boutique family and personal law firm. He is well regarded family lawyer who has acted in high net-worth domestic and international divorces. Rajan is also an Associate Mediator with the Singapore Mediation Centre, a Volunteer Mediator in the State Courts Centre for Dispute Resolution and the Community Mediation Centre. He is also a Collaborative Family Lawyer, Child Representative and a Parent Coordinator.  He is a director of the first private mediation company in Singapore, Resolvers Pte Ltd which offers private mediation. He is a Board Member of the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals based in the United States of America. 

Rebecca Vathanasin

Rebecca is a Senior Associate with Gloria James-Civetta & Co.

She has been involved and has experience in numerous Court proceedings including divorce, annulments, Personal Protection Orders (PPO), spousal and child maintenance, custody and relocation applications and applications under the Mental Capacity Act.

She is well-versed in Family Justice Courts and Syariah Court proceedings and has practised in all levels of the Singapore Courts.

Samson Leo

Samson Leo is currently the Chief Legal Officer of Fazz Financial Group and Xfers, which are both high-growth “Fintech 250” companies. Since his time as co-founder and Chief Legal Officer in Xfers, he has grown Xfers from a 3-person start-up to a regional company with more than 200 people across Singapore, Indonesia, Taiwan, Vietnam and Philippines. Today, he heads the Fazz Financial Group’s legal team of 6 legal counsels in Singapore & Indonesia, and oversees the FFG Compliance committee consisting of senior compliance professionals and their team.

Samson has grown the regulatory profile of Xfers by successfully obtaining a rare MAS approval in 2019 for Xfers to become a widely accepted stored value facility, one of only six in Singapore. External partners have remarked that it was a “highly ambitious goal given that Xfers was a start-up, the need to partner a bank and MAS’ scrutiny in processing Xfers’ application”. Later in 2020, Xfers became licensed by MAS as a Major Payment Institution under the Payment Services Act. Under this regime, Xfers launched the first regulated Singapore-dollar denominated “stablecoin” - the “XSGD”, offering consumer protections under the Payment Services Act and the technological edge of blockchain-based payments.

Samson’s compliance leadership was also recognised by the Minister of Home Affairs, Mr. K. Shanmugam, and also with four police awards to date for the company’s efforts in the fight against cybercrime - 2018, 2020, 2021, 2022.

Sarita Misir

Sarita is Singapore-qualified transactional and technology lawyer practising in the areas of mergers and acquisitions (M&A), capital markets and information technology law, with a passion for employment law. She is currently Senior Vice President, Global Legal at a major Asia-Pacific focused international healthcare company, where she is the legal lead for global M&A, capital markets and healthcare tech. She is a volunteer at LSPBS and sits on the Law Awareness Committee.

Serene Gan

Serene is a senior regional legal counsel, qualified in Singapore and New York, with a background in Singapore and regional corporate work as well as commercial litigation. Serene provides practical legal advice to her clients, allowing them to capture business opportunities while effectively managing transactions, operations and on-the-ground legal risks. 

She is the co-chair of the Singapore Corporate Counsel Association Pro Bono Chapter which aims to encourage pro bono spirit within the in-house legal community to do volunteer work. 

Simran Kaur Toor

Simran is an avid proponent of fair treatment, diversity, equality, and inclusion. After close to 2 decades as a lawyer, Simran recently left legal practice at a Big 4 law firm to head up SG Her Empowerment Limited (“SHE”), a non-profit organisation established in 2022 to drive women’s development in Singapore.

Dr Toh See Kiat

Dr Toh See Kiat (Chairman Goodwins Law Corporation, Edition Limited and CommerceNet Singapore Limited) graduated with an LLB (Hons) Degree from the National University of Singapore in 1982 and was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor in Singapore in 1983. He obtained his Master’s Degree in Law from Harvard University in 1986 and, in 1991, a PhD in Law from the University of London where he did his doctoral thesis in electronic commerce. He has also been admitted as a Solicitor in England and Wales. Dr Toh has also been a Professor in NUS, NTU and Tyndale University, Canada. He is a former Member of Parliament and President of CASE.

Yap Teong Liang

Teong Liang was called to the Bar of England and Wales (Middle Temple) in 1991 and admitted as an Advocate & Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore in June 1992. On 10 June 2002, he set up his boutique law firm specialising in Family Law.

Teong Liang has been engaged as leading counsel in both first instance and at appellate levels in the Family Division of the High Court and the Court of Appeal. He is listed as a Preeminent and Leading Family & Divorce Lawyer in the Doyle’s Guide and Litigation Star for Family and Matrimonial Disputes in Benchmark Litigation Asia-Pacific 2021. In 2021 and 2022, the firm was ranked one of Singapore’s Best Law Firms in Family Law in the Straits Times/Statista survey.

Teong Liang also practices as a Collaborative Family Practitioner, Parenting Coordinator and is an Associate Mediator with the Singapore Mediation Centre and an Accredited Mediator with the Family Justice Courts and Regent’s University, London (Mediation and Psychology) and appointed onto the panel of Child Representatives by the Family Justice Courts since October 2014.

Teong Liang has presented papers at both local and overseas family law conferences over the years and authored the chapter on Maintenance of Wife and Children in the book “The Art of Family Lawyering”, a publication of the Law Society of Singapore in 2005. He authored the chapter on Ancillary Relief: Orders That Can be Made in the book “The Law and Practice of Family Law in Singapore” published in 2016 and recently co-authored the Chapter on Dispute Resolution Options in the book “The Art of Family Lawyering” (2019 Special Edition).

Yos Pang

Yos is an international, commercial technology lawyer, with a strong background in intellectual property and is well-versed in legal Chinese. Previously, she was a lead lawyer at Facebook for platforms and an external counsel advising Microsoft’s legal team. Yos currently leads Snyk’s legal team across Asia Pacific and is passionate about bringing Snyk’s combination of developer-first tooling and best-in-class security intelligence to more markets across APJ. She specialises in IT and IP law, with a particular interest in open source and open content issues. Outside of work, Yos also acts as an advisor and legal consultant for several women empowering tech organisations and social enterprises, including She Loves Tech, Women in Tech and CRIB. She also sits as a director and corporate secretary of a non-profit organisation Cycling Without Age Singapore.
